We are only a little more than a week away from LegacyWalk (Friday, April 26th). To date, only 40% of OCA families have participated in LegacyWalk fundraising. We need 100% participation to succeed in reaching our $100,000 fundraising goal! Our final turn in date is Tuesday, April 23rd and the cumulative goal is $500 per student.
If you haven't turned in any money yet, it's NOT too late! We have some special incentives and prize opportunities for you! 1) Students who have not turned in any donations during the first 4 weeks, have an opportunity to win a doughnut and LegacyWalk bracelet if they bring in $50 or more on or before Tuesday, April 23rd! Remember, the easiest way for people to donate is online at: https://ocalegacywalk.weebly.com/donate.html 2) Students who have not turned in any donations during the first 4 weeks may submit 5 prospective donor names and addresses via this online form on or before Wednesday, April 24th. OCA will address the mailers, attach the postage and mail them on your behalf. Students who complete this form will also earn a LegacyWalk bracelet. (Only one form per family please.) 3) All students who did not reach their Week 1 goal, but reached their $500 overall goal will be awarded a LegacyWalk bracelet. Please help us finish strong! If you are available to help out with the LegacyWalk and Carnival festivities on Friday, April 26th, please sign up today!
We are learning as we go. Monday's do not seem to be the best turn-in dates. So, we are extending all turn-in dates to Tuesday. Sponsor donations must come in by the end of the school day each Tuesday to count toward the weekly goal. Results (students who met their goal by grade), top fundraisers and class ranking will be posted on the leaderboard page each Wednesday.

The above poster hangs in OCA's teachers lounge. It reminds me of the purpose of LegacyWalk...working together to build the legacy of OCA. To succeed in reaching the $100,000 goal, we need everyone on the boat to row...that includes all of our staff, teachers, parents and students. This week, we extended the turn-in date until Tuesday. Approximately 35% of our students turned-in LegacyWalk sponsorship donations. We are so grateful to everyone who contributed. The student's who reached their $50 weekly goal will be rewarded with a LegacyWalk bracelet and donuts tomorrow (Friday) morning. "Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment." 1 Corinthians 1:10 Our prayer is that OCA students and parents will be like-minded and view this "friendraiser" as a way to advance God's kingdom. We pray everyone will do their part to bring in the needed funds with a spirit of gratitude, humility and joy. We pray that God will reveal to them the vital role OCA plays in our community. We pray all will know what a rare privilege it is to be a part of the awesome work God is doing in the lives of students through the ministry of OCA...to be a part of something much bigger than themselves or their family. Tuition only covers 85% of the total cost to educate each student. Therefore, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap. We are not asking you to give to this fundraiser as we know the tuition and fees you pay are already a large investment. However, we are asking you to reach out and invite others to support this worthwhile ministry. Next Monday, April 1st is our next turn-in date. Donations mailed in, turned in or placed online by the end of day on Monday, will count toward each student's turn-in total for Week 2. The goal for Week #2 is $75 per student. However, we base weekly prizes on the cumulative total. The cumulative total for Week #2 is $125 (Week 1 and 2) and the prize for students who reach this goal is a raffle bag pull. Don't miss out...we have lots of great prizes! If you haven't done so already, please check out the resources on the LegacyWalk portal. We've made asking friends and family to give simple...you can use social media or email to direct them to this URL to watch the video and donate: www.omahachristianacademy.org/legacywalk Please contact us at 402-399-9565 if you have any questions. Working together to expand God's kingdom, Donna Blum Community and School Development #LegacyWalk...today was OCA's first turn-in day for LegacyWalk 2019. The goal for today was $50 per student and the weekly prize is a LegacyWalk wristband and donuts for students who reach this goal. If you forgot to today was a turn in day, we have good news! We have extended the turn-in deadline for Week 1 until Noon tomorrow (Tuesday). Please email or message your friends and family to let them know they can donate online. Simply direct them to: https://ocalegacywalk.weebly.com/donate.html Instructions for online donations: 1) Click the Donate Button 2) Enter the amount you would like to donate and click: Donate with Debit or Credit Card 3) On the next screen, you will see a little pencil icon with the words Write a Note (optional). Click the pencil and you will see a text box in which to type the student’s name. Will you help raise funds to build OCA's legacy? We do not ask for ourselves, but for the benefit of every student who's life has ever been or ever will be impacted by the Christ-centered education provided by OCA. “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31 Thank you! Today is our LegacyWalk kick-off! We are sending home one LegayWalk packet to each OCA family today. We will also hold a student assembly to get students excited about the many opportunities to win fun activities and prizes, all while helping their school.
We hope you will take a few minutes over Spring Break to familiarize yourself with the materials in your packet and consider who you will invite to sponsor you/your students in LegacyWalk. The first turn in date is Monday, March 25th and the goal for that day is $50 in sponsorship donations per student. We are praying for 100% participation in this year's LegacyWalk. We need each and every student/parent to support the mission of our school and help us reach this goal. Have a blessed Spring Break! |
