How It Works
Friday, March 8th is the kick off of LegacyWalk 2019. A LegacyWalk packet was sent home to each OCA family on this date. This website also went live and serves as a hub for all information and resources related to LegacyWalk, Please bookmark this site and visit often for the latest news and updates.
LegacyWalk is a "friendraiser". The purpose of LegacyWalk is to have OCA students and parents invite others (extended family and friends) to be a part of the amazing work God is doing in the hearts and minds of students through OCA and to help build the OCA legacy.
OCA's overall goal is to raise $100,000 in student sponsorship donations. Each student (PS - 12th) has a goal of raising $500 in sponsorships from friends and family members. We are praying for 100% participation. If you think about it, it shouldn't be too difficult to find 10 people each willing to sponsor you/your student for $50 each.
It is vitally important that we have the support of each and every student/parent to reach this goal. We do not ask for ourselves, but for the benefit of every student that has ever been or ever will be educated in the light of biblical truth by OCA. We've make it simple for you to request sponsorship donations. Simply share the donor video via email and social media and/or mail out sponsor forms. Please see the resources we have created to simplify the fundraising process.
The walk will take place at and around OCA on Friday, April 26th. It will be a fun, family-focused day with the walk in the morning and a carnival in the afternoon (rain or shine). We encourage parents and grandparents to join us for the day or just the afternoon. Please note: School lunch will NOT be served on Friday, April 26th. Please send a home lunch or order a lunch for each student. You may also order a lunch for additional family members who plan to attend.
Each Tuesday, between March 26th and April 23rd, will be a turn in day. On turn in days, all donations that have come in via the mail, online and those brought in to the school will be calculated. Students who reach their goal on or by turn-in day, will be rewarded later that week with a special prize or activity. Watch for weekly updates via email and on the blog page of this site.
